Canaanite Oil Lamps - with four spouts. Among the earliest of clay lamps is the saucer lamp of the Iron Age. In ancient times, these developed after a saucer or shallow bowl had its edges folded up to form 1 or 4 spouts. A great variety of these lamps exists and this replica is based on a style common from about 3100 BC to 1850 BC. These lamps would have been the style in use in the Old Testament especially in King David's time. Every Canaanite lamp is hand molded, so minor variations from that seen in the photo will occur, but all have this general appearance.
